unlearning problematic behavior is a long ass process
you will fuck up
handle it gracefully.
It’s also… you’re not resetting to some sort of innate default. There isn’t a real core you that knows better and is above mistreating people; it’s — you’re learning a new skill. It’s not about purity. It’s about learning.
Trans* activists in Mexico City, protesting violence against the LGBTQ community.
Oh, well, damn.
Today in Solidarity: Family of Mike Brown join protesters outside of STL Courthouse, demanding the immediate arrest of their son’s killer, Officer Darren Wilson.
The grand jury has yet to charge Darren Wilson with anything. Mike Brown’s killer is still a free man, being paid by the taxpayers of the very community he’s terrorized. #staywoke #farfromover

Remember that time when Wade ended up in San Francisco and immediately decked himself out in matching purple tank top, booty shorts and roller blades and for just a moment he was so happy?
And then some assholes were telling him he looked stupid and he was going to beat the piss out of them but just then some rad as heck people drove by and shouted to him that he was beautiful and Wade was shocked and he actually felt beautiful and he was happy again and then he went and started hitting on a bar full of sailors? (Vol2, #15)
Because I think about it constantly.
emotional abuse is when someone does something to hurt you, and when you express your feelings, that you’re upset, they turn it around to be something you did to hurt them and they force you to apologize for it, and your feelings, like always, are rendered invalid and silenced, forever damaging the ability to trust others with your feelings because they always are used against you.
this is important because so many people don’t know this
reminder: ferguson and palestine are still happening and are still important even though there’s less attention being paid to them right now
this also applies to the missing school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria!
On average, you have a 1 in 18,989 chance of being murdered
A trans person has a 1 in 12 chance of being murdered
The average life span of a cis person is about 75-90
The average life expectancy of a trans person is 23-30 years old
75% of people killed in anti LGBT hate crimes are poc
Think about this the next time you go crying over “cisphobia” and “reverse racism”
it’s been five months and i’m still not over how “to the end of the line” basically means “til death do us part”
me: hey i’m kinda good at this writing thing
